What we are looking for
AscellaHealth is looking for a Manager of Financial Analytics (Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis) in Berwyn, PA. This pivotal role, reporting to the VP, Financial Planning & Analysis, will support all departments to provide key analytics to drive the day-to-day operations.

The candidate should have experience working with large datasets, knowledge of, or ability to learn, Alteryx and SQL, strong critical thinking skills, and strong attention to detail. What the position will be doing
  • Utilize SQL, Alteryx, and Excel to create impactful data analyses
  • Clean and manipulate large datasets for financial analytical purposes
  • Effectively communicate complex analyses and findings to non-technical teammates, including executives and senior leaders across different departments, serving as an important provider of financial analytics
  • Perform trend analysis, actuals vs forecast, and identify/communicate variance drivers
  • Utilize MS Power BI to support data visualization requests from internal clients
  • Add commentary and insights, overseeing the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and variance analysis to assist various departments in making financial decisions
  • Create packages of data for monthly strategic meetings for every line of service
  • Keep financial reporting models for budgeting and reforecasting up to date and make more efficient
  • Provide variance research prior to month-end close, including adding insights
  • Identify and implement improvements to the FP&A process for efficiency
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process and oversee forecasting procedures
  • Collaborate, build relationships, and contribute to a positive work culture
  • Other duties as assigned, also being flexible and adaptable to changes in a fast-paced environment

Necessary Skills, Education & Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree, or 4-year equivalent, required. Concentration in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Operations Research, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or Business preferred. Master's degree in a STEM field or MBA a plus.
  • Experience analyzing data to solve a variety of business problems.
  • Experience creating data analyses and data visualizations to drive strategic direction.
  • Expertise in Excel, including the extensive use of advanced formulas, and formatting/charting features.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management and Alteryx or equivalent database/workflow automation software is desired.
  • Understanding of how predictive statistical models and machine learning can be applied effectively to solve complex analytical business problems. Experience developing statistical models is a plus.
  • Success in identifying business needs, creating a vision, and directing the delivery of analytics-driven solutions that create sustained value.
  • A proven innovator who has managed successfully through complexity and difficult business challenges.
  • The ability to utilize your strong strategic and analytical skills along with working knowledge of forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis.
  • Experience with leading and managing complex budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • The ability to manage financial reporting and analysis, having focused on providing strategic guidance and insights to leadership.
  • Knowledge in the healthcare, pharmacy benefits management, or pharmaceutical industry is preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team setting effectively.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to de-escalate issues and find solutions quickly and effectively.
  • The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven.
